A quiet idle game about digging a hole and never quite finishing it.
Your crew hammers away at the rock below. Every Chunk they break pays Gold, every Layer you clear takes you one Depth further down, and the rock gets harder the deeper you go.
Close the app and the crew keeps working. Come back to banked Gold and pick up where the hole left off. Fissure is built to be checked on rather than ground out. A few minutes at a time, several times a day, with nothing punishing you for leaving.
Come back once a day and there is a daily bonus waiting too: a 30-day streak that pays Gold, with Geodes on its milestone days. Miss a day and the streak falls back to its last milestone, never to zero.
The rule that matters
A Digger too weak for the rock in front of it does not chip away slowly.
It deals exactly zero damage, and it says so. TOO WEAK, right there on the Digger.
So the hole stops when your crew outgrows its usefulness, and the only way down is to merge two matching Diggers into one stronger one. It is not an optimisation you can skip. It is the game.
You do not have to sit and wait for it, though. Tap the rock and you swing alongside the crew, as hard as your best Digger, so your taps get stronger with the same upgrades they do, and land with a small kick you can feel. The gate still holds: if your best Digger cannot break the rock, neither can your thumb. Tapping shortens the wait. It does not move the wall.
Twelve slots, and a crew that keeps outgrowing them
A merge grid of twelve slots below, a pit above, and a Hardness gate that tells you exactly which of your Diggers is dead weight. Break a Surge Chunk and you are offered a Surge. Take it and every Digger hits five times as hard for fifteen seconds.
The grid is yours to arrange. Drag a Digger onto an empty slot to move it, onto a different Tier to swap the two, or onto a matching Tier to merge. Every Digger shows its Tier in big numbers, and a valid merge lights up while you drag. The broom button sorts the whole Crew by Tier and closes every gap in one tap.

Every tenth Depth, something is in the way
From Depth 30 down, every tenth Layer carries an Obsidian Boss: one oversized block in the middle of the pit, worth twenty-five ordinary Chunks of rock. The Depth chip at the top of the screen counts down to it: how much of this Layer is left, and when the next Boss is.
It is not a bonus you can walk past. It counts toward clearing the Layer, so the Layer does not finish until it does. It pays Gold in proportion to what it cost you, and it sometimes drops Geodes, which is the only way to earn them without ending your run.
It is also the one Chunk the game never tints. Every other Layer runs through the colour of its own rock; obsidian is black volcanic glass, and stays that colour all the way down.
And you choose where to dig
Clearing a Layer used to drop you to the next one whether you wanted it or not. Tap the Depth at the top of the screen and you get the choice: STAY HERE stops the descent so you can work one Layer for as long as it pays, and any Depth you have already reached this run is one tap away again.
Go back up to go deeper
When the hole goes quiet, you return to the top and start over, but never from nothing.
Every run pays out Geodes for how deep you got, and Geodes buy seven permanent upgrades that no reset ever touches.
- TemperingHardens every pick, so your crew swings like a higher Tier and the Hardness gate moves out of your way.
- ImpactEvery strike hits harder.
- SpeedYour crew swings faster.
- Gold RushEvery Chunk pays more.
- Deep SleepThe mine banks more hours while you sleep.
- MultidigEvery strike gets a chance to land twice.
- ProspectingRaises the chance an Obsidian Boss drops Geodes.
The first run ends somewhere around Depth 40. The next one goes further, and so does the one after that. There is no last floor to reach.
What every run adds up to is kept as well: a Stats panel for your record Depth, your descents, every Geode you have earned and what each of your bonuses is doing right now, and a rank title that rises as you go deeper. Plus 33 achievements, a deepest-Depth leaderboard and a cloud save through Google Play Games, so the hole survives a new phone.
What isn't in it
There is nothing to buy. Fissure is free and it stays free.
- No in-app purchasesNot "no pay-to-win". None at all.
- No bannersNothing sits at the edge of the screen.
- No interruptionsNothing plays while you're digging.
- No energy, no livesNothing stops you playing.
- Three optional adsOne speeds up your return after time away, one triggers a Surge, one is offered after you beat an Obsidian Boss. Nothing is locked behind any of them.
- No accountIt signs in with the Play Games account already on your phone, so progress survives a new device.
